CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2009 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

Members of Saint Paul Lutheran who are graduating from high school this year will be recognized and honored during June. Because of the difficulty of scheduling (related in part to different high school schedules) we will recognize and honor graduates on three Sundays in June (7, 14, 21). Graduates will be recognized and honored during the announcements at the service that is possible for them to attend, and a quilt made by Saint Paul's Quilters will be presented. Graduates are asked simply to contact Pastor Becker before the Sunday service they will be able to attend. Check in at 8:45 AM to let him know you are there, and we will simply ask each to stand on that day for recognition. We give thanks for and congratulate the following: Amber Armstrong, Thomas Bang, Tyler Conroy, Brianna Crea, Molly Granat, Zachary Gunderson, Kevin Johnson, Taylor Klingbeil, Diana Lusk, John Roettger, Whitney Thomsen, Caylin Watson, and Brandon Urhammer.

The quilters of St. Paul Lutheran Church made quilts for each of our 2009 High School Graduates.  These quilts are a reminder that the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran is praying for each graduate as they continue on their life's journey and they can ber reminded of our love and prayers each time they wrap up in their quilt.

GET YOUR ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH COOKBOOK!
(A great gift idea for Christmas!)

The youth of St. Paul's are putting together a St. Paul Lutheran Church COOKBOOK, featuring all of our congregation members' favorite recipes!  The books should be ready for sale by the Church Bazaar on Saturday, November 22nd, so plan now on getting yours!

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be providing matching funds for this project, the proceeds from which will go toward Youth Events, especially the ELCA National Youth Gathering next summer in New Orleans.

KEEPING OUR ACTIVITIES AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE…

St. Paul’s has a unique, but pretty cool system for helping youth pay for the more costly events we participate in during the year. Youth can earn WORK CREDITS of $4 per hour for helping around the church in various ways – these WORK CREDITS are notated in a master log book and can be applied as you wish to pay for trips and/or activities such as Quake, retreats, the ELCA National Youth Gathering, Summer Stretch, Valley Fair, and more!

With the big trip to New Orleans coming up next summer, we are working hard to come up with a more extensive list of ways you can help around the church to earn WORK CREDITS. Projects include office work, yard work, cleaning, VBS, nursery care, organizing craft materials, re-doing bulletin boards, and more! Speak with Jan Winkler (651-230-3810 or mjnbwink@comcast.net ) for ideas and take advantage of this great opportunity!

Some other ways you can serve . . .

  • Children's Ministry committee member (the committee meets once a month on a Tuesday evening)
  • Nursery volunteers
  • Youth event planners/chaperons

Please prayerfully consider helping make our Sunday School Confirmation, and Youth programs the best they can be for our wonderful kids!  contact Jan for more information!
