LOCAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WORK DAY

The Social Concerns Committee is providing a Local Habitat for Humanity work day on Saturday, March 20, from 8:30am to 4pm at a local facility in St. Paul. At this time, we do not know exactly the job we will be doing; however, it will be inside work. In case you do not have a full day to volunteer at this site, you can work at any time during the above hours. The van has been reserved for this day leaving at 8am from the church and lunch will be furnished by the committee. There is a release and waiver of liability for each worker to sign and you can pick this up at the office. Please bring this waiver with you on the work day. There is a sign up sheet on the kiosk. Thank you for volunteering your time.

Talent Swap Board

Let's share our talents/skills!  Check out the kiosk in the Gathering Space. If you have a skill to share and/or need a specific skill and you would be willing to trade, sign up using the note cards provided. This is a like a Help Wanted/Help Provided board (i.e. I can bake cookies but need someone to hem my pant legs). Let us share our time and talents in a mutually beneficial manner!  Questions?  Contact Mali Bod

Student Recognition Sunday

Recognition Sunday

Welcome Home / Student Recognition Sunday was celebrated on December 27th at Saint Paul Lutheran, with many students returning to participate in the worship service.  An informal meal was also held the previous evening to honor students and give time to make some reconnections with friends and the church staff. Many students read scripture, lead prayers, and served as ushers or greeters.  Marguerite and Brianna DeFore led the children’s message and Beth Swanson and T.J. Rydeen preached for the day.  Eighteen students from many different kinds of schools and colleges were represented.  Members of the congregation should also know that 37 students have received education grants in the amount of $500 per semester this year from the Ernst Fund Scholarship program that is administered by the Memorial and Grants Committee.  This year we also broadened the invitation to Welcome Home / Student Recognition Sunday in order to include all post-high students, whether in school or not.  This was a great day and fun to see so many return.  God bless all who seek to serve God and the world through vocation.
