As the program year for children's ministry comes to an end, it's a great time to stop and give thanks to our Sunday School teachers who work so hard each week to help our children grow deeper in God's love and to share their faith with them!  So, a great big special thanks to Alice Walker, Kathy Conery, Vida MacDonadl and Kristie Mack!

If you see them in the halls or in worship, make sure you stop them and say thank you for all you do!

VBS registration

Registration is open for our 2017 Vacation Bible School.

The dates are Monday through Friday, August 7 - 11.
Family Supper from 5:30 - 6 p.m.
Vacation Bible School from 6 - 8 p.m.

This year’s VBS theme is “Created by God, Built for a Purpose” and it will be another exciting week for our children as they learn about How God made them, How God is for you, How God is always with you, How God always loves you, and finally, How God made you for a reason! VBS at SPLC is always a great week of adventure for our children and families! This year’s VBS program is happening the week of August 7-11 where each evening we will provide the students and their families with a “light supper” before they begin their nightly quest in “Created by God, Built for a Purpose”.

It is our “light supper” where I need your help. Would you be willing to help prepare, serve, clean-up in the kitchen, or make a donation of food, to keep the costs down? This will make a difference in the lives of those attending this year’s VBS program! I need approximately 6-10 people each day; there is a signup on the VBS registration table in the Gathering area. Along with the sign-up to help, there is a list of items that need to be donated. In past years, and as always, our members provide what is needed for our VBS program and I thank you for your generosity and your servant attitudes in helping our children continue to grow in their faith journey with God. 1-40 oz. Peanut Butter
3 lbs. butter
1-16 oz. jar grape jelly
1 16 oz. bottle BBQ Sauce
600 napkins
5 lg. boxes of potato chips
1 lg. Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
1 lg. Butterscotch topping
3- 5qt. pails of vanilla ice cream
12 boxes “Kraft Cheesiest Version” of Macaroni & Cheese
3 lbs. of butter
3 lbs. Blue Bonnet Margarine
1 Box of raisins
1 small jar mayonnaise
8 pans (9X13) Brownies
8 pans (9X13) Rice Krispie Bars
16 Dozen Cookies
3 Loaves of White Bread
3 Loaves of Wheat Bread
1 Lg. Canister of Lemonade
2 – lg. bottles of French dressing
1 Lg. Bottle of Ranch Dressing
1 small jar mayonnaise

All donations (except desserts) should be marked VBS and brought to the kitchen no later than Sunday,  July 30th!

6 Dozen Ears of Corn
3 gallons of 1% milk
2 gallons of skim milk
5 gallons of Chocolate Milk
2 Seedless Watermelons
3 lbs. bag of apples
1 Lg. Container Powdered Lemonade
1 “Fresh Fruit” (keeps fruit fresh)
