First Communion class

If parents / grandparents / aunts and uncles are aware of children in their family who are either members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or are "friends" of the congregation and one or more of these children have not yet had a chance to receive instruction in preparation to receive their First Communion, please contact Pastor Scott at the church. He is willing to meet individually with the child or children, as long as another adult from the family is present, in order to help the youth become prepared to receive the Lord’s Supper for the first time. At St. Paul’s, we do not have age limits on when children and youth receive the sacrament of the altar for their first time. However, we are looking for signs that will be noticeable, at this communion preparation session, that indicate the children are "ready" to receive this special gift and that they have an understanding of this sacred ritual, at the level that is appropriate to their age. If possible, children/youth will receive their first communion during the Maundy Thursday worship services on March 29th

It is with great joy that we announce St Paul Lutheran’s new Youth, Family and Education Coordinator, Amy Peterson. Amy comes to St Paul Lutheran from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bayport, MN. Amy has a deep love of Theology and the Lutheran tradition. She will work half-time at St Paul Lutheran. Amy is also a student at Augsburg University where she is pursuing her B.A. in Religious Studies with an emphasis on Theology. She will graduate this spring and intends to attend Luther Seminary part time to complete her Masters of Divinity Program with an emphasis on children. Amy brings compassion and dedication, and we are very grateful to have her on board. Amy’s first day will be March 12. Please introduce yourself and welcome Amy to our community.

Upcoming Sunday School Schedule

We begin Sunday School in the Youth Room each Sunday for opening time at 10:15 a.m. Be sure to come into the church with your child to sign them in and then check them out on the lower level at 11:15 a.m.

We are still looking for people to help lead the stations or be a room helper for each Rotation. It is a short term commitment.  Please contact either Vida MacDonald or the church office if you want more information and/or are interested in helping for a Sunday or two.

Do you have children between 3 years old and 6th grade?  If so, they are invited to join us for Sunday School!  Our Sunday School is open to all children and there is no charge.  Sunday School is held each Sunday through the school year - from September 17th - May 13th - from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.  New students can join any time.  To learn more and/or to register you child(ren), click on the link below.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office at 651-439-5970.
