We have many small group ministries available at St. Paul Lutheran Church for everyone.  You can choose from options using music talents, being a reader in worship, helping serve communion during worship, helping with the PowerPoint presentations during worship, ushering, Bible Studies, Quilting, knitting/crochetting prayer shawls, helping with Sunday School, serving on a committee, helping with funeral lunches, helping with building maintenance and yard work, volunteering in the office, various outreach and mission projects such as serving supper at Simpson Shelter, staffing a shift at "Hope for the Journey Home", helping with Habitat for Humanity projects, helping staff Valley Outreach Food Shelf, and the list goes on.

You are welcome to join in any of our ministries - whether you are a member of St. Paul Lutheran or not.  If you have any questions about any of the small group ministries, please feel free to contact the church office at 651-439-5970.

Yarnsters group

Our “Yarnsters” team welcomes all who enjoy crocheting and/or knitting, as well as those who would like to learn how to crochet or knit.  During the year the team crochets and knits prayer shawls, prayer squares, crosses, baby sweaters, baby bibs, baby blankets, slippers, cancer caps and baby hats for Lakeview Hospital and hats for the “Hats for Africa” project.  In April, another 8 chemo caps and 6 baby hats were delivered to Lakeview.

If you know of someone who is suffering from an illness, is having surgery or who has recently had a baby, please contact one of the pastors, the parish nurse or the church office so that a gift from the Yarnsters can be delivered.  If you are going on a mission trip, the Yarnsters would love to send some of its beautiful creations with you to share with others.

The next meeting of the Yarnsters will be on Saturday, September 9th, from 10 a.m. until Noon at the church.  All are welcome to come!

The Yarnsters would also like to invite you to come spend an evening at Pioneer Park with your project, personal or charity type, while you socialize with others in the community. Originating from an idea of the Yarnsters at St. Paul Lutheran this is open to anyone in the community for an opportunity to meet other creative individuals.  Bring your lawn chair, a cool drink and your project.  Starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13.  Come when you want, leave when you have to.  Bring a friend. Questions directed to Esther Longseth 439-5436 or Chris Peterson 439-8445.

Quilters 2016

If you have fabric pieces you no longer need, good usable flat sheets you no longer need, or regular sewing machine thread in any color that you have no use for, you can donate these items to the quilters.  Donations are always welcome!

The quilters invite anyone interested in quilting, or learning how to quilt, to join them on the first Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Stay as long as your schedule allows.  If you have quilted for years or have never quilted before, there are always jobs that you can do.  The next quilting dates are Thursday, Thursday, June 1st and Thursday, July 6th.

Chancel Choir cropped

Our St. Paul Lutheran Chancel choir, under the direction of Duane Rygg, rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7 - 8 p.m. from September through May.  They sing at our worship services three Sundays each month.  If you are interested in singing, we would love to have you be a part of the Chancel Choir.  Contact the church office if you would like more information.

Bell Choir 2015
St. Paul Lutheran Bell Choir

Our St. Paul Lutheran Bell Choir holds rehearsals beginning in the fall through the end of April.  They play at worship services throughout school year and take the summer off.  If you are interested in playing bells, they are always interested in new members!   Contact the church office if you would like more information.

Have you and your family been to our church libraries recently?  Did you even know that we had two libraries at St. Paul Lutheran?   Well, we do!

There is a wonderful Children’s Library on the lower level of the education wing of the church. There are many, many good books and videos that our children can check out to take home to read or watch. If you and your children have not visited this library, we encourage you to stop by and check it out. If you have used the library in the past, we encourage you to continue to do so. It has a lot to offer!
We also have an adult library, which is located in the upstairs hallway of the education wing of the church. There are many books available here for pleasure reading, but also many resource and educational books, magazines, audio tapes and video tapes available for you to take home. There is also a table and chairs in the adult library, so if you just wish to sit and read or research something, you can do that, also.
Both libraries are accessible at any time that the church is open (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; evenings when meetings are going on, and also on Sunday mornings). We hope you will stop in and check out what our libraries have to offer.
