As I write this, Valentine’s Day 2008 has just passed us by. It makes me think of love and how people try and remember the ones they love on that special day. Every day should be Valentine’s Day as far as I am concerned. We sometimes forget to tell those that we love how much they do mean to us and how much we love them. I received something in my e-mail that was titled “What Does Love Mean?” This question was posed to a group of 4 to 8 yr olds. They are amazingly brilliant. Here are a few:
v “When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore, so my grandfather did it for her all of the time. Even when his hands got arthritis too.”
v “Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.”
v “Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.”
These statements make us stop and think. What would you say if someone asked you the same question? I thought about it and Jesus came to mind. What love he had for all of us. John 3:16 says it all “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
What love!
Have a blessed Easter
